Post-Procedure Aftercare Tips
Eyebrow lifts are performed as a day case. You’ll need someone to pick you up after surgery, as you might not be able to drive yourself.
Once you’re home, here are 3 tips to care for yourself.
1. Eating to Recover
After anesthesia, you should drink clear liquids to flush the anesthetic out of your system and to stay hydrated. This helps prevent vomiting and nausea. It’s also important to eat regularly to keep up your strength and aid your healing process.
Since you won’t be able to exercise for a little while, it’s a good idea to add more raw fruit and fiber to your diet, too.
2. Minimize Swelling
To minimize the swelling around your eye, use a clean, cool compress or even ice wrapped in a dry cloth. Close your eyes and apply the compress to your eyes for around 20 minutes at a time. Repeat this four to six times a day in the first 24-hours after your eyebrow lift.
3. Be Gentle
You can shower the day after your eyebrow lift. Be sure to be gentle with your face when washing and drying it and be careful not to snag any stitches.
If you need to dry your hair, use your hairdryer on a low cool setting for at least a few weeks after your procedure. You won’t be able to color your hair for at least 6 weeks after surgery.
After Your Eyebrow Lift
The results of an eyebrow lift are visible almost immediately. The scarring and swelling will fade with time and you should notice the final results several months later.
While gravity will continue and you’ll still experience the natural aging process, your eyebrow lift will keep you looking younger and fresher for years to come.
