How often have you turned to eyebrow pencils to try and achieve the perfect eyebrow shape? Yet, it’s a temporary solution. It also means spending time every day trying to fill in sparse areas or reshape your brows, and it can smudge at any time. With microblading, you’ll have gorgeous eyebrows all day, every day. It’s also the answer to achieving the perfect eyebrow shape for your face.
How to Choose a Shape for Microblading
A lot of care goes into finding the perfect brow shape for your face. It’s the longest part of the microblading procedure, too.
A pencil outline is first created and then used as a guideline for filling in the brows for semi-permanent results. Your microblading technician takes a multitude of facial measurements with a special protractor to find the most flattering shape and dimensions to highlight your features and frame your face.
No matter what the shape of your face is, there are three rules of thumb to choosing the right shape:
- The beginning of the brow starts in line with the side of the nose
- The arch is marked by following a straight line from the tip of the nose to the eye pupil
- The tail of the brow sits either above or level with the head of your brow and extends just a little past the outer corner of the eye
You and your microblading technician will choose your desired eyebrow shape together. You’ll be involved in the entire process, from measurements to discussing your preferences.
A shape for the new brows is then drawn in and your technician will work with you to perfect the shape and suit your preferences. All the time, the microblading technician will check the position and symmetry for the perfect shape.
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Microblading results vary from one person to the next, but it’s recommended that you come in for a refresher every 12 to 18 months after your initial sessions. Microblading is an art, not a science, so it will depend on your aftercare, skin, and beauty regimen.
