Woman with perfectly shaped eyebrows after microneedling procedure

With microblading becoming one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the marketplace, it’s no surprise that everyone’s asking about it. Today, we’re answering five of the top questions about microblading.

  1. What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure designed to enhance the appearance of fine hair strokes and volume in the brow line.

Contrary to popular belief, microblading is not simply an eyebrow tattoo. While eyebrow tattoos are often more dramatic and thick, microblading creates a more natural, detailed, and fine-tuned look that can last for years.

  1. How Does Microblading Work?

First of all, microblading should be done by an experienced, board-certified surgeon that understands the procedure and has gone through the specifics with you in a pre-procedural consultation. The procedure is carried out through making many small cuts in the brow line which are filled in to mimic the shape of eyebrow you desire and to mimic the appearance of darker, fuller brows.

  1. Does it Hurt?

There is no denying that the microblading procedure can certainly be a painful one. While your brow line should be treated with a numbing agent to reduce the amount of discomfort you may feel throughout the process, the level of pain is different for everybody. While some have reported that it is similar to eyebrow threading, others have reported that it feels like they are receiving a tattoo on their brow bone. If you are experiencing severe discomfort during any procedure, however, it is important that you let your surgeon know.

  1. What is the Healing Process Like?

You may feel some discomfort for the first few weeks following your procedure. While your eyebrows will initially look darker within the first week of healing, you will notice that they will begin to fade to a more natural tone over time. It is important that you follow all instructions given by the specialist you received the procedure from, which may include applying ointment or cream to the area for a period of time following the procedure.

  1. Is Microblading Right for Me?

Of course, everyone is different. Being unsure about whether microblading is right for you, however, should not stop you from asking questions. If you are interested in learning more about how microblading can give you the look you crave, schedule a consultation online or call us at 215-503-FACE.
